Whip Silk

Most reach-granting auras live and die on the body they enchant: commit one early to your blocking plan, then eat a two-for-one when removal answers the creature it sits on. The bounce ability changes the arithmetic on the back end. The aura attaches at sorcery speed, so the reach is never a surprise; an attacker can read exactly which blocker holds up the skies before declaring. What stays in your control is whether the aura outlives its host. For a single green mana you return it to hand at instant speed, and that is the trick worth paying for: a removal spell aimed at your blocker still kills the creature, but enchantment removal pointed at the aura whiffs, and either way the aura survives to redeploy next turn on a fresh body. Card economy stays flat across the grind. One aura answers flier after flier, paid for in mana and tempo rather than cards, because it never goes down with the creature it was attached to. That inversion is the design. Green usually buys its sky coverage with oversized bodies or one-shot fight spells; this leans the other way, trading raw efficiency for permanence. It belongs to a quieter strand of green's air defense: not killing the flier, just refusing to let it connect, a green mana at a time. The same loop doubles as insurance when good targets thin out, letting the aura wait safely in hand rather than committing to a blocker it might outlive.
