The line of white removal that tucks an answer inside an enchantment shell has always paid the same tax: the answer is temporary, and killing the enchantment returns the exiled permanent. What sets the terms here is reach. Where much of this lineage restricted itself to creatures, this touches any nonland permanent an opponent controls, so the same three mana that neutralizes a threatening attacker can instead strand a planeswalker, sideline an artifact engine, or lift a game-warping enchantment off the table. That flexibility rides alongside the genre's built-in fragility: the exile is leashed to the enchantment's survival, so an opponent holding enchantment removal spends a card to destroy this and reclaim their permanent, trading down but breaking the lock. The return clause makes it a soft answer rather than a clean one, which is the price white pays for reaching so far across the board.
The wrinkle sits on the trigger, not the target. Because the exile fires when the enchantment enters rather than as a spell resolves, its controller can blink or bounce it to re-fire against a fresh permanent, turning a single card into a repeatable displacement effect inside any flicker package. That same enters-the-battlefield framing is also the ceiling. As an enchantment without flash, it can only be cast at sorcery speed, so it never holds up as reactive interaction; it commits to the board on your own turn and has to survive there afterward to keep the exiled permanent locked away.
