Weatherseed Totem

A mana rock that refuses to stay dead. Most artifact ramp gives you a body only by giving up the rock for good, but this one writes its own resurrection clause: animate it into a 5/3 trampler, throw it into combat or a sacrifice outlet, and the death trigger returns it to your hand rather than leaving it in the graveyard. The result is a recurring threat that survives sweepers and Wraths and chump-blocks that would permanently strip an ordinary creature off the board, since the bounce fires only when it dies as a creature. That recursion is the whole design tension: untapped, it is a fragile artifact a single removal spell answers cleanly; activated, it becomes a clock an opponent has to keep killing turn after turn. The resilience is not free, though, and that is where naive readings of the card go wrong. The trigger returns it to hand, not to the battlefield, so every loop costs you the full recast plus the steep animation cost again before it can attack, and a toughness of 3 means it folds to plenty of incidental damage along the way. That tax usually competes with the green mana you wanted out of the rock in the first place. It belongs to a family of resilient utility ramp built to be the last permanent standing in a grind: every creature on the board is replaceable except the one that always crawls back, slowly.
