Double strike is what turns a single connection into a board-doubling event: each combat damage step fires the cheat-into-play trigger once, so one unblocked swing deposits two more Goblins from hand at once. Krenko, Mob Boss, Siege-Gang Commander, Goblin Chieftain, even a humble Marsh Flitter: any Goblin in hand arrives free the instant this body lands a hit, and it lands two. The 1/1 frame is the entire admission price, and it is steep. A creature this fragile folds to nearly any removal, and the whole payoff is staked on surviving to its first attack and then slipping past defenders. A snowball engine bolted to one of red's flimsiest bodies, with no haste to cover its arrival: connect once and the board explodes, get blocked or burned beforehand and you have spent two red mana on a chump. Because it sits a full turn before it can swing, the deck around it has to do the protecting (haste enablers to shorten the wait, evasion to guarantee the hit), turning a fair-looking creature into one of the most lopsided combat triggers the Goblin tribe has ever been handed.
