Warbringer
A dash payload that exists to make every other dash cost cheaper. The mechanic itself is a one-turn rental: cast a creature for its dash cost, swing with haste, and watch it bounce back to hand at the end step, a recurring tempo play that never overcommits to the board. This one's trick is that its discount applies only while it is sitting on the battlefield, which sets up an awkward but deliberate tension with the keyword it cares about. Dash it in and the body is gone by the end step, taking the cost reduction with it; the engine only runs if you hard-cast it and leave it down, exposing a 3/3 to the sorcery-speed removal that dash was supposed to dodge. So the card asks for a deck built backward from its own keyword: enough other dashers that a permanent two-mana rebate on each one outweighs the risk of a stationary anchor. That is a narrow ask, and it makes the card a payoff rather than a creature you play on rate. The reward, when the pieces line up, is a string of hit-and-run attackers arriving for a song and returning to hand for reuse, a low-commitment aggression that punishes opponents who try to trade at parity. It is the rare lord-style enabler whose own most aggressive line actively turns the engine off.
