Wandering Ones
A vanilla 1/1 for one mana with no keywords, no triggers, and no upside beyond its single point of power: this is the floor of creature design, a body and nothing more. Its Spirit type ties it to a tribe and an Arcane-spell theme that built around the count of bodies on the table, but Wandering Ones brings only the body itself; it does not fly, does not block well, and does not scale. The honest read is that this is a baseline marker rather than a card with a story: a reminder of what a one-mana creature looks like when designers want stats that cost exactly what they are worth and ask the format to do nothing else with them. Its only enduring use is in casual Spirit shells that need to count creatures, where the type line carries whatever weight it has.
