Wall of Distortion

Creature — Wall2 generic manaBlack manaBlack mana

Most black hand-stripping is a one-time transaction: Duress, Mind Rot, and their kin spend a card to take one from the opponent, and the exchange closes. This Wall converts that idea into an engine. The activation costs nothing from your hand, only 2 generic manaBlack mana and a tap, so each discard is paid in mana and time rather than cards. On raw count, every activation tips in your favor: you lose nothing, the opponent loses one, repeated as often as you can untap and pay. What keeps the rate honest is the sorcery-speed clause. The discard can never ambush a key spell on the stack, strip an answer in response to a threat, or knock a fresh draw off the top before its owner acts; each activation happens during your turn, telegraphed and reactive to nothing. That restriction is why the 1/3 body matters as much as the ability. Defender holds a lane shut while the card sits back and grinds, turn after turn, never committing to a board it cannot defend. What it sells is not a tempo swing but attrition: a lone discard spell empties one card and is gone, while this keeps asking. It is built for the patient black deck that expects to win the long game and wants to wear an opponent's hand down to nothing while the door stays closed.
