Walking Atlas

Artifact Creature — Construct2 generic mana

Most acceleration that cheats lands into play is a one-shot: a sorcery that drops something once and then is gone. Welding the effect to a permanent that taps each turn changes the math entirely, since every turn cycle you leave it untapped is another land from hand for no further mana. The durability is paid for in fragility and feedstock: a 1/1 dies to anything, summoning sickness keeps it offline its first turn, and the engine only matters if your hand stays flush with lands to feed it. That last constraint is the design tell. This is not fixing or generic value; it is a payoff piece that wants landfall triggers, big-land strategies, or a recursion plan that returns lands to hand, anything that converts "put a land into play" from a small one-time gain into a recurring trigger. Note too that once it can tap, the ability carries no timing restriction of its own: you can put a land down at the end of an opponent's turn, leaving up a surprise landfall trigger or keeping the land in hand a moment longer for a play that wants it there. By itself it accelerates by exactly one land per turn and asks nothing in return; in a deck built to abuse extra land drops, it turns a rate-limited resource into a tap-down faucet.
