Most "untap matters" payoffs care about a single permanent: untap your land for mana, untap your creature to keep it back for blocks. This one reads the entire untap step as a counting problem. Every permanent that goes from tapped to untapped on your behalf stacks another +1/+1, and the largest single burst of untapping in the game is the untap step itself: at the start of your turn, every land, creature, and artifact you tapped out the night before comes upright at once, and each one triggers separately. A 1/1 becomes an arbitrarily large threat as those triggers resolve in your upkeep, before you have spent a card. The body wants you to ask how many permanents you can tap and then untap inside one turn, so explicit untap effects (anything that flips a permanent you tapped back upright) are what feed it; note that bouncing and replaying a permanent does nothing, since something entering untapped never "becomes untapped." The catch is duration. The pump lasts only until cleanup, so the size you build is a window, not a foundation: it all evaporates regardless. That fragility is the puzzle. The reward scales with how long a chain of untaps you can assemble in a single turn, and the moment you commit a huge attacker, a removal spell at instant speed takes the whole turn's investment with it.
