Vulshok Morningstar

Artifact — Equipment2 generic mana

Early Equipment had a math problem: the pieces either cost too much to cast, asked too much to attach, or handed back too little for the tempo you spent strapping them on. This one balanced all three at once. Two to cast, two to equip, and a flat +2/+2 that turns any body into a real threat the moment it lands. The numbers are why it became the reference rate. A vanilla one-drop becomes a 3/3; a 2/1 becomes a 4/3 that trades up and survives the swing. Because the bonus is unconditional and the equip is cheap enough to slide down onto a fresh creature, it rebuilds your board after a sweeper instead of dying with it: the buff outlives whatever it was on. That reusability is the entire reason aggressive decks ever reached for Equipment, and the rate here is the one later designs get measured against. Those later pieces chase the same job with more text and more conditions; this one says exactly what it does and charges fairly for it, with no clause to play around and no trigger to whiff. It taught a generation of players what a permanent, recurring stat boost was supposed to feel like: a buff you can never be two-for-one'd out of, priced so you can actually afford to keep moving it.
