Voracious Cobra
First strike welded to a deathtouch-style destruction trigger is the cleanest version of a profile that has shadowed the green-red color pair for years: the blocker nothing wants to attack into and the attacker nothing wants to block. The destruction fires on combat damage to a creature, and first strike means that damage lands before the other creature ever swings back, so it eats whatever it touches and walks away. The result is a piece that polices a ground stall on its own, deterring fatties many times its size while costing only what a midrange snake costs. The body is the price of admission: a 2/2 dies to most burn and folds to evasion, double blocks, or anything that bounces or freezes it before damage. That fragility is what keeps the rate fair, since a creature that destroys whatever it fights would be oppressive on a sturdier frame. Later printings refined the same idea down to a keyword (deathtouch on a first-striking body), but this is the long-form version of the trick, spelling out the interaction the keyword now compresses into two words.
