Volcanic Vision
The damage on this sweep is not printed on the card: you assemble it beforehand, in your graveyard. Whatever instant or sorcery you return sets the size of the wrath, so a cheap burn spell clears tokens and a seven-drop clears almost anything your opponents have committed. That coupling is the entire engine, and it creates a tension the card never resolves cleanly: you want a high-mana-value spell in the bin to maximize the sweep, but the seven mana to cast this already strains a curve, and the fattest target is often another expensive card you would rather just be casting. The self-exile clause is the honest part of the design. A spell that returns spells and sweeps boards would loop into itself trivially, so it pays for its power by leaving the game after one use: no chaining the recursion back into another cast. The asymmetry matters just as much. The damage lands only on creatures your opponents control, which turns this into a one-sided board wipe bolted onto a card-advantage spell, with the catch that the wrath's scale is something you build in advance rather than find on the spell in front of you. It rewards decks that treat their graveyard as a reservoir of firepower waiting to be scaled, not a resource to spend and forget.
