Vodalian Arcanist
The mana it makes is fenced off on purpose: colorless, and useless for anything but instants and sorceries. That restriction sets it apart from the freewheeling accelerants that hand you mana for whatever you please. Where a typical dork ramps your whole curve, this one subsidizes exactly the half of a spell-heavy blue build that matters, and it pays for that focus with a body that survives more than it threatens. The 1/3 is the tell: not a clock, but a fixture that sits behind a wall of cantrips and burn and adds a second stream of card-velocity mana while staying alive through the early turns. The colorless output also sidesteps the usual ramp tension between fixing and acceleration, because it never fixes; it is a dedicated subsidy for the part of the deck that closes games, handed to you only if your spellcount is high enough to spend it. A spellcaster that keeps its head down and quietly underwrites the next two turns of removal and draw, asking only that you have committed to the instant-and-sorcery plan it was built to feed.
