Vizkopa Guildmage
The second activated ability is the engine, and it converts an entire archetype's worth of incidental life gain into a kill condition. Lifegain in Orzhov tends to accrue in small, defensive increments: a lifelink trigger here, a drain spell there, numbers that pad your total without ever closing a game. This Wizard inverts that logic by mirroring every point you gain onto each opponent as life loss, doubling the impact of effects that were never meant to matter on the offensive axis. The two abilities are built to feed each other: spend the first to staple lifelink onto a creature, connect, and the second turns that combat damage into a symmetrical drain that hits every opponent at once. Because the trigger reads "each opponent," a full pod takes the hit simultaneously, and in that context the body's modest stats stop mattering. The cost structure is the discipline here: both abilities want the same , so a turn where you activate both leaves you tapped out, and the drain ability covers only the current turn's lifegain, demanding that you front-load your gain into one window rather than dribbling it out across several. The reward, then, goes to a deck that can produce a large lump of life on demand, asking you to assemble the gain first and pull the trigger second.
