A 2/3 for three mana asks little of a deck and gives little back until you find four mana to spare, and that activated ability is the entire reason to run it: a repeatable dig that peels the top card, hands you creatures and planeswalkers, and buries anything else on the bottom. The four-mana price per look is set high on purpose. You are meant to activate late, when the board has stalled and your extra mana has nowhere better to go, not as an early tempo play. What defines the card, though, is the narrow restriction. It only takes creatures and planeswalkers, so a deck leaning on it accepts that its library selection yields no removal, no card-advantage spells, just bodies and walkers. That constraint ties the effect to permanent-dense green strategies where almost every hit is live anyway, rather than letting it function as generic filtering. The design descends from a familiar green pattern: mana-sink digging engines whose bodies are close to incidental, where the payoff is not any single card but the promise that a flooded midgame converts a would-be dead topdeck into another threat. The rate is deliberately modest, the engine deliberately slow; the card does exactly the grind-out work its cost is priced for.
