Vivid Revival

Sorcery4 generic manaGreen mana

Buried somewhere between a graveyard staple and a niche payoff sits a recursion spell with a built-in deckbuilding tax: it only retrieves multicolored cards. That clause is the whole design wager. In a deck where most of the spells are monocolored or colorless, this is dead weight, but in a gold-heavy shell it becomes a one-card refill that buys back three of your best threats or value pieces at once. The single-use exile clause keeps it from becoming a perpetual engine; you get the burst, then the card removes itself from the loop rather than recurring alongside everything else you just returned. Its five-mana cost sets the tempo of the exchange: this is not a quick play but a midgame reset, the kind of spell you cast when your gold-laden hand has emptied and you need to reload all at once rather than drip-feed a single card back. Green has long been the color of card advantage through brute volume (Regrowth and its many descendants), but those effects are color-agnostic; tying the recursion to multicolored cards makes this a payoff specifically for the greedy, many-shard deck that wants exactly this glut of legendary gold and high-impact two-color threats. It rewards the commitment to going wide on color identity rather than wide on the battlefield.
