Viral Drake
A repeatable proliferate engine bolted onto an evasive infect clock, and the body is shaped to abuse that engine rather than swing with it. The 1/4 frame is the tell: a single point of infect threatens a leisurely ten-turn poison kill on its own, which is to say it never wins by attacking. The four toughness is there to block, to weather the X/1 swarms that infect decks tend to deploy, and to keep the activation alive across long turns. What it actually wants is for the poison counters and -1/-1 counters to already be on the board, placed by harder-hitting threats, so that each proliferate activation compounds someone else's pressure. Crucially, the ability carries no tap and no combat requirement: it grows counters anywhere on the table whether or not this creature ever attacks, turning every spare mana into another poison counter across from you, another -1/-1 ticking onto a stalled blocker, another loyalty counter on a planeswalker you control. That mana-only activation makes it a closer, not an opener: lay the early infect damage with other creatures, then convert each remaining turn into accumulation. It also doubles as a generic counter-engine anywhere counters define a win, since proliferate does not care whose counters it grows. The flying is for dependability of its own slow infect output, not for racing.
