A single-axis answer that does exactly one thing and does it at instant speed: destroy an artifact, no enchantment clause, no rider, no choice to make. The pricing is steeper than green's later artifact hate would settle on (Naturalize would eventually cover both artifacts and enchantments for the same kind of mana), so the appeal here was never the rate. It is the timing. Where most of green's mass artifact answers ask you to wait for your own turn, this one can sit open: hold it to break equipment after it attaches, kill a mana rock before it untaps, or answer a key artifact the moment it resolves rather than letting it stick around. As color-pie philosophy it is unremarkable in the best way. Green is the color the pie assigns artifact destruction to as a matter of resentment, and a focused instant that does nothing but blow up a single target is the cleanest possible expression of that assignment. The narrowness is the identity. It does not pretend to cover enchantments, it does not bury a creature mode in the back half, and it does not ask anything in return. A spell with one job, one timing window, and zero negotiation about what it is for.
