Vengeful Archon
Damage prevention has always been a defensive crouch: you absorb the hit and the attacker keeps the initiative. The activated ability here breaks that posture by stapling redirection to the prevention, so every point of damage stopped becomes a point dealt to a player or planeswalker of your choosing. The funding model is the trick. Because the cost is a repeatable , the shield scales with whatever mana you have open at the moment damage is announced, and there is no cap on how many times you reach for it in a turn beyond your willingness to keep paying. A wide alpha strike that would have been lethal instead becomes a redirected lethal pointed back across the table, and a burn spell aimed at your face turns into burn aimed at someone else's. The body matters less than the engine, though a 7/7 flier is hardly incidental: it gives the prevention something to protect and a clock to close behind it. The structural cost is the timing window. Prevention only fires against damage that would be dealt to you, so the ability sits idle against board states that ignore your life total entirely, and the redirected damage rides on the back of an opponent's decision to attack or burn you. It rewards a deck that wants to be hit, then punishes the hitting.
