Seven mana for a 5/4 flier with no text beyond the keyword: this is the French vanilla top-end, a body and an evasion line and nothing to track. The lammasu, the winged guardian-bull lifted from Mesopotamian and Assyrian iconography, is a flavor Magic reaches for whenever a set wants a stately ancient flier, and the execution here is content to do exactly that and stop. There is no upside folded into the cost, no trigger waiting on a build, no reason to read past the type line twice; five evasive power is the entire proposition, and the rate it asks for that power is one the game left behind long ago. A creature priced this high for a body this plain exists to give a color a closer in the air when nothing more interesting is on offer, honest about what it is and unburdened by ambition beyond it.
