The attack trigger here is doing something quietly unusual: instead of pumping its own offense, it shaves two power off a defender, and only when this Wizard swings. That -2/-0 is a one-way combat lever. It turns a blocker that would trade or kill the attacker into one that bounces off, and it stacks across a board, softening a single big body so the swarm gets through or letting this 2/1 attack into something that should have eaten it. The rigidity is the price: the effect fires only in the declare attackers step, so it is welded to going forward. There is no holding it back to ambush an incoming attacker or to steal a combat on defense; the lever exists only when you are the one swinging. That makes it a tempo piece for an aggressive shell that keeps its creatures pointed at the opponent and treats every attack as a small disruption to their board, a slow, repeatable edge that rewards going wide over leaning on a single bomb. The 2/1 is fragile enough that the trigger is the whole appeal: lose the Wizard and the lever goes with it, which tethers the effect to a body that has to keep surviving to keep swinging.
