Mind control with a metered tax. Permanent theft auras have always priced their power in a single lump: pay the steep cost once, keep the creature forever, the way Control Magic and Mind Control both do. This one inverts that bargain. The price tag up front is comparable, but possession is rented rather than owned, billed at the start of every one of your upkeeps. The recurring fee is a land bounced to your hand, which means the theft eats your tempo on a schedule: you return and replay a land each turn just to keep what you stole, and the moment you stop paying, the Aura sacrifices itself and the creature goes home. That upkeep window is the whole tension of the design. A long game compounds the cost into real mana disadvantage, so the card is built to steal something that wins fast enough to justify the lease before the payments bury you. There is a quieter upside buried in the tax, though: returning a land to hand can be an asset rather than pure friction, letting you replay a land with an enters-tapped trigger or a dual you would happily reset each turn. It is a steal effect that asks you to read the clock, not just the target.
