Vampire's Zeal
A combat trick with a tribal condition welded into its second line. The base mode is about as plain as white pump gets: a flat +2/+2 at instant speed, playable in any white deck and remarkable in none. The conditional first strike is the reason the card was built the way it was. Stapling first strike onto a creature that is also getting bigger changes what the trick can do in combat: instead of merely surviving a block or trading up, the pumped attacker or blocker now lands its damage first and often clears the opposing body before taking any back. That turns a size boost into a clean kill, and the swing only opens up when the target shares the Vampire type. The structure is a study in rewarding commitment without punishing its absence: the floor never leaves your hand dead, and the ceiling only unlocks when the board cooperates. Generic effect on top, tribal payoff underneath, is a familiar two-tier shape for cheap tricks meant to earn a slot on their baseline while offering more to a deck built around a single creature type. This one asks nothing of you beyond a white source, and repays a Vampire-heavy list with a combat outcome most one-mana instants cannot reach.
