Vampire Revenant

A 3/1 flyer for four mana is the kind of stat line that sits at the very bottom of a vanilla curve: too fragile to trade well, too expensive for the evasion it offers, no second ability to justify the slot. What's left to talk about is the type line. Vampire Spirit is a deliberate cross of two tribes, a body that counts for both a Vampire payoff and a Spirit payoff at once, which is the only reason a card this plain gets printed. The design exists to feed a tribal hook on two axes rather than to win a fight in the air. As a creature in isolation it asks nothing and rewards nothing; its entire reason for being is the words above the rules box, not in it. Strip the dual typing and you have a card no one would register at all.
