Green-blue-red has always been the color triad most reluctant to hand you a Dragon payoff, because Dragons live in red and white far more than they do in Simic waters, so a Temur tribal engine has to justify the splash on raw ceiling. This one earns it by cheating twice from a single body: the enter-the-battlefield look repeats on every attack, so the seven-mana investment keeps mining the top eight for a Dragon to drop free rather than paying off once. Dropping the Dragon directly onto the battlefield rather than into hand is what changes the calculus: the creatures found this way skip their own mana costs entirely, and the builder gets a body on the board without paying for it. The design bets on redundancy of hits over quality of any single one; a deck built around it wants a Dragon density high enough that eight cards reliably contains one, which pushes toward tribal saturation rather than a toolbox of one-ofs. There is a subtle wrinkle in the attack version: a Dragon entering during the declare-attackers step cannot itself attack that combat, so the payoff compounds on the board, not in the combat. Each swing leaves you with an extra threat already deployed for the next turn. Flying and trample on the chassis mean it closes games on its own even when the top eight whiffs, so a dry dig still costs you nothing but the look.
