Ur-Drago
Hyper-targeted hate, dressed up as a finisher. The body is a fair 4/4 first striker for seven mana in two colors that, in the Legends era, were the worst at producing efficient beaters, and the static ability shuts off precisely one keyword: swampwalk. That keyword was Legends' signature evasion mechanic, scattered across a generation of black creatures, and this is the answer card built specifically to neutralize them in combat without removing them. The design is striking because it commits to the bit twice: a blue-black creature whose color identity overlaps the very decks running swampwalkers, and a rate that asks you to actually cast and attack with the thing rather than treat it as a tool to side in. First strike is the closer on the package, letting the 4/4 trade up through the swampwalk creatures it has just rendered blockable. The card belongs to an older design philosophy where hosers were built as creatures rather than enchantments or instants, and where a keyword could be common enough across a set to justify a legendary, seven-mana lock-and-beat answer to it. Strip the swampwalk context away and you are left with a modest first-striking legend whose lone static ability now does nothing; in its native habitat, it was a deliberate piece of metagame architecture.
