Tumbleweed Rising

Sorcery1 generic manaGreen mana

Because the token's size is measured at resolution rather than at payment, this rewards a specific sequencing: develop your board first, cast last. A lone bear on the battlefield yields a 2/2; a fatty already in play yields a matching second body for two mana. The X/X clause also carries a floor problem worth naming: with nothing else out, it makes a 0/0 that dies on the spot, so this is not a spell to run into an empty board. Plot is what converts that timing wrinkle into a clean line. You bank the cost on an early turn, then release the spell later, after your largest threat has landed, splitting the play's tempo across two turns and leaving your mana free to hold up interaction or curve out normally while the token is queued up for release. Its natural home is a green deck already built to deploy oversized bodies, where the token stops being a build-around and becomes a delayed second body sized to match whatever your best creature happens to be, arriving off a cost the rest of the sequence never has to shoulder.
