Triumphant Chomp

SorceryRed mana

The clever move here is a high floor that earns the slot without the tribe. Two damage for a single red mana is already a fair rate against the small creatures that clog early boards, so the Dinosaur clause does not have to fire for the card to be playable. That inverts the usual tribal-payoff problem, where a spell is dead unless the deck delivers on its theme. When the theme does show up, the ceiling gets absurd: the spell checks the greatest power among the Dinosaurs you control and deals that much instead, so an 8/8 saurian sitting in play quietly turns one red mana into removal that answers nearly anything. Note the shape carefully: you point the spell at the creature you want dead, and the game reads your board on its own. Your Dinosaurs are never targeted; they are a passive dial that sets how hard the burn lands. That is the tension this design resolves, and it is a familiar one for cheap red burn: how do you print a spell that punches through the fatties red usually cannot kill, without handing every other red deck a strictly-better Lightning Bolt? Gating the scaling behind a specific creature type solves it. The upside is also self-correlated with tempo, since your biggest Dinosaur is largest when you are already ahead on board, and the card collapses back to a two-damage ping exactly when you are behind and need more.
