Triangle of War

Artifact1 generic mana

Fight as a packaged removal effect existed years before Wizards keyworded it, and this colorless artifact is one of the cleanest early attempts to bottle it. The total cost is three mana split across two payments: one to cast, two to crack, with the sacrifice clause folding the artifact into the activation rather than leaving a permanent on the board. That structure sidesteps one form of fragility: once the ability is on the stack, Disenchant cannot remove the artifact in response to stop it, because it has already been sacrificed as a cost. The catch is the one written into every fight effect, which is that your creature takes the damage back. A small attacker dies to anything with two power; a fragile board cannot reliably profit from the exchange. So the design rewards lopsided power-to-toughness in your favor: a big, durable body that survives the swing while removing whatever it points at. Colorless availability is the quiet draw. Removal that fights is overwhelmingly a green and red preoccupation, but a single artifact slots into any color combination that wants creature interaction without dipping into those colors. It reads as a workhorse, a flexible answer in deckbuilding that asks only that you have the bigger creature when the time comes to crack it.
