Tresserhorn Sinks

Snow Land

A Rakdos dual that enters tapped and asks nothing in return except patience, this land would be a strictly weaker fixer than any of the painless Black-Red duals if not for one classification buried in its type line. That classification sat dormant for years, a label the game had largely stopped caring about between the eras that printed snow cards. The reprint that placed it among snow-matters mechanics changed nothing about what it does and everything about why you would run it: a tapped Rakdos source that also registers as a snow permanent suddenly feeds the cards that count, scale off, or pay you for controlling them. That is the design's whole tension. The rate is deliberately mediocre, because entering tapped in a two-color manabase is a real tempo cost, and the snow line is meant to refund that cost only inside a shell built to collect on it. Outside that shell, you are running a worse dual on purpose. The result splits cleanly into two readings depending on what surrounds it: a clunky fixer if nothing in your deck reads the supertype, a permanent with a second classification doing live work if something does. It is a clean demonstration of how a single inert word in a type line can wait out an entire stretch of design space, then become the only reason a card belongs in a list.
