The redirection trick turned inside out: instead of damage hitting the enchanted creature, it routes straight to whoever controls it. That makes the aura a piece of indirect player-burn that happens to attach to a body, and the clever part is whose damage gets rerouted. Enchant your opponent's blocker and your attacker's combat damage no longer kills the creature; it cuts straight to your opponent's life total, and because the damage is dealt to the controller instead, the creature itself takes nothing and walks away unharmed. Burn spells and pingers work the same way: every point aimed at the enchanted creature becomes a point aimed at its controller's face. The design tension is the giveaway. Damage that would have been a removal effect becomes pure reach, and since the magnitude is irrelevant to the creature, the ceiling is a single oversized burn spell pointed at a creature you have already turned into a relay. That is the combo logic the card is built around: park the aura, then dump as much damage as you can muster into a body that cannot die from it, and watch all of it land on the player. The aura reads like a combo enabler, and in practice it functions as one only when paired with a damage source big enough to matter; absent that, it sits on a creature doing nothing until the next attack step.
