A tutor built for a mechanic that needed one. Traps were ambush instants with a discount conditional on your opponent doing something, but their entire premise broke down if you drew them the turn before the trigger arrived rather than the turn it mattered. This solves that timing problem from the other direction: rather than wait for a Trap to show up, you find the exact one for the board in front of you at instant speed, then hold it for its alternative cost. The two-mana investment plus the Trap's reduced cost often undercuts hardcasting, and the search-to-hand line means you can fetch a specific answer in response to whatever your opponent just committed to. The shuffle clause denies any peek at your next draw, but the real constraint is the narrowness: it finds nothing but Traps, so the card is only as deep as the Trap pool you choose to play. That dependency is also what makes it a curiosity. A tutor whose target list is a single small mechanic lives or dies by how many Traps exist worth tutoring for, which is a question the broader card pool never quite answered in this card's favor.
