Topan Ascetic
The pump engine that eats your own board to grow itself: every activation taps an untapped creature you control, so a wide battlefield converts directly into a bigger Monk. The cost structure is what makes it patient rather than explosive. You are not paying mana, you are spending the attacking potential of your other creatures, which means each +1/+1 is a real tradeoff between going wide and going tall. Tapping a creature is not the same as attacking with it, so the activations slot neatly around combat math: hold back blockers, tap them before damage, and turn a stalled ground into a single threatening body. The ability has no cap and no mana floor, so given a full board the Ascetic scales as far as the surrounding creatures allow. The honest part of the design is the modest 2/2 body it ships with: the engine only matters when you have surplus creatures with nothing better to do than feed it. A self-contained scaler whose ceiling is set entirely by how many bodies you can spare.
