Tin-Wing Chimera

A creature designed to die into another one, and one of the few early Chimeras built to make that tribal label mean something. The body is incidental: a 2/2 flyer at four mana was unremarkable even in its own era. The point is the sacrifice clause, which folds this creature's evasion and a permanent stat boost into a target Chimera, trading a fragile flyer for a bigger, harder-to-block threat. The reminder text does load-bearing work here, but not where you might expect: the +2/+2 counter is permanent on its own, as counters always are, so the "indefinitely" is there to specify that the granted flying does not wear off at end of turn the way a granted keyword normally would. That distinction is the whole design: the recipient keeps the wings for as long as it lives. The catch is that "as long as it lives" is doing real work. Non-lethal answers undo everything: bounce the upgraded Chimera and it returns as a fresh object, counters gone and flying gone with it. It is a build-around aimed squarely at a creature type that, at the time, barely existed in supported numbers, which is the quiet tragedy of the card. The mechanic anticipates a Chimera deck the era never printed enough pieces to assemble, so the upgrade engine spent most of its life pointing at nothing worth upgrading. As built, it is a sacrifice-to-pump effect waiting on a tribe that did not materialize.
