The looter, rebuilt as a fixture instead of a body. Every red and blue rummaging effect since Merfolk Looter has lived on a creature, which means it dies to removal, to combat, to a sweeper aimed at something else. Bolting an Aura onto a land moves the engine off the part of the board that gets attacked and onto the part that almost never does: lands are rarely removed, and a tapped land that loots is invisible to nearly every interactive deck. The cost of that durability is the five mana up front and the card spent on the Aura itself, a two-card investment for a one-card-per-turn engine that does not impulse the looting decisions for you (discard, then draw, the same red rummage rate as ever). What you buy is permanence: an attrition engine that survives the games attrition decks are built to win. It is the rare loot effect that wants the long game, smoothing draws turn after turn while the creature-based versions have long since traded away. A patient piece for decks that intend to be there at the end.
