The vanilla-plus tax that keeps a common honest. A 2/2 for two mana is the flat baseline for a white two-drop, and the anthem ability tacked onto this Kithkin is priced to almost never fire: five mana for a single turn of +1/+1 across the board is a rate you reach only when the game has stalled and you have mana to spare. That is the point. The activation exists as a mana sink for the very end of a grindy game, a way to turn a topdecked land into a marginal alpha-strike boost when nothing else is happening, without ever threatening to be the reason you play the card. Kithkin tribal decks want bodies that flood the board, and this one contributes a warm body first and a repeatable overrun second, in that order of importance. The design lineage here is old: white weenie has always paired small creatures with a way to convert excess mana into damage, and this is that pattern trimmed to common-rarity scale, where the tax on the ability is doing the balancing so the body can stay at cost.
