Tidehollow Strix
A flying deathtoucher is the cleanest defensive package an evasive creature can wear: it trades with anything that flies into it and threatens to kill anything bigger that connects, all while pressuring the air itself. The body is fragile (one toughness folds to any incidental ping), but that fragility rarely matters in combat, because deathtouch makes a single point of its power lethal to whatever it touches. The artifact type is the quiet wrinkle. It means this is a flying, deathtouching creature that also reads as an artifact for everything that cares: metalcraft counts, affinity counts, artifact-fueled engines count it as a body that happens to threaten the skies. That overlap is rarer than it looks, since most evasive bodies built for tempo were never given a type line that doubles as combo fuel. The deathtouch-flying pairing has shown up before and since across Dimir's color pie, but bolting the artifact label onto it turns a defensive flier into a creature that can be a payoff and a deterrent at once.
