Tidal Terror
The evasion clause here does something quieter than it looks: it converts a stalled board into an unblockable threat by tapping two other creatures, which reads as a cost until you notice the shape of the deck it wants. A wide creature base makes that tap trivial, and a 5/6 that reliably gets through is a fast clock once the ground gums up. That is the whole pitch on the front of the card. The back is the more honest job. Bolting cycling onto a top-heavy blue body has long been the reliable lever for making six-mana finishers safe to run: when the game does not want an expensive Octopus, the card folds into something useful instead of rotting in hand. But this one carries only islandcycling, not the broader suite, so the escape hatch is narrower than the pattern suggests. It does not draw a fresh spell and it does not fetch just any land; it tutors specifically for an Island, which makes it a color-fixing and land-smoothing tool rather than a true card-selection outlet. The design tension is deliberate: the attack ability rewards you for keeping the creature on the board, while the cycling ability rewards you for cutting it loose to find the blue source you are missing. Most copies end their game as the second thing, and the card is built to be comfortable playing either role.
