Throne of the God-Pharaoh

Legendary Artifact2 generic mana

Most life-loss engines key off something you actively do: a sacrifice, an attack, a spell cast. This one reads the board in a quieter spot, counting tapped creatures during your end step, which means the trigger never asks why a creature is tapped. Crewing a Vehicle, tapping for mana, paying an activation cost, attacking into open air: every tapped body becomes a point of reach, and the count happens after combat, after second main, after everything you've done to wring the turn dry. That timing is the whole math. Vigilance actively undercuts it, since a vigilant attacker stays untapped and contributes nothing; the cards that feed it are the ones that leave bodies tapped on purpose, the ones that swing and stay down. For go-wide token decks the drain scales with creature count rather than power, so a swarm of 1/1s that bounced off blockers still cashes out, and a board you've already committed to becomes a clock you didn't have to pay for twice. The honest limit is the window: it fires once, on your end step, with no instant-speed flexibility and no reach into an opponent's turn. And it is faster than it looks. Drop it post-combat with a tapped-out board and it ticks immediately, the same turn it lands, before the opponent ever gets a chance to wipe the table clean.
