Thraben Heretic

Creature — Human Wizard1 generic manaWhite mana

Graveyard hate that asks for nothing beyond its own existence on the battlefield: a body that blocks, attacks for chip damage, and exiles one creature card from a yard each turn for free. The trade-off is baked into the activation. Tapping to exile means each turn buys you exactly one target, so this is attrition against a graveyard, not a sweeper for it; a single Tormod's Crypt or Bojuka Bog clears the whole yard at once, while this picks off the threat that matters and then waits for the next. That repeatability is the point. Against a deck that leans on a key creature in the graveyard (a reanimation target, a creature it wants to loop, a value engine it keeps recurring), a recurring exile that lives on the board is harder to play around than a one-shot artifact, because there is no window after you spend it; the threat is gone, and the ability resets next untap step. The cost is that it only touches creature cards, so spell-based graveyard plans (flashback, a delve engine, a deck rebuying instants and sorceries) walk right past it, and it can be killed before it does its work. It belongs to a small lineage of creatures that fold maindeckable graveyard interaction into a fair white two-drop, paying for the effect with nothing more than a tap and the patience to grind a yard down a card per turn.
