Thought Sponge

Creature — Sponge3 generic manaBlue mana

The design conceit is a mirror pointed at the table's greediest player: the body scales to whatever draw engine an opponent has already fired this turn, so the more cards they've dug for, the bigger it lands. Flash is the load-bearing piece here, not the counters. This wants to enter after the wheel resolves, after the big draw spell finishes, after the counting is done and the number is highest; playing it on your own turn is playing it wrong. The two halves close a neat loop: it grows from opposing draws, then converts that size back into cards of your own when it dies, so it punishes the archetype it feeds on and refuses to be a dead body even when it whiffs. That death trigger reads its power at the moment it leaves, which quietly rewards pumping it before it goes, and means a chump block or a sacrifice outlet turns a parasitic 1/1 into a draw spell scaled to someone else's ambition. It is a piece of political tech dressed as a creature: a soft tax on the player emptying their hand fastest, with a refund clause that keeps you whole. The 1/1 base is honest about what this is when the table plays fair. Its whole reason to exist is a table that does not.
