The Western Cloud

Plane — Gobakhan

A planar card that reads like a fortress wall, then buries the table in shrapnel. The static effect is total defensive cover: no creature or planeswalker you control takes damage, so combat, burn, and any board wipe that deals rather than destroys slide off those permanents entirely. The plane's payoff turns that same immunity into a weapon. Rolling the planar die into chaos manufactures three tapped Treasures that immediately unload, each dealing 1 damage to every creature and planeswalker, three damage in total to every permanent that can take it. Symmetrical on paper, one-sided in practice: your creatures and walkers are already immune, so what looks like a Pestilence tick escalated to a Pyroclasm-sized swing is a clean sweep of your opponents' small and mid-sized creatures and a real dent in their walkers, while your own board absorbs none of it. The Treasures are the quieter half of the design, a ramp reward stapled to the removal so a good roll advances your mana even as it clears the way. Both halves lean on the same premise: damage is the currency of the planar chaos engine, and this plane refuses to spend any of it against you. That premise is what lifts the roll above mere variance. It does not just add noise; it converts a passive shield into repeatable, one-directional board control, gained without any deckbuilding cost beyond running a planar deck at all.
