Ramp welded to a clock, and the crew requirement is what keeps the exchange honest. Crew 1 is nearly free, so the real cost is opportunity: you spend a body's worth of attention pointing a 4/4 haste vehicle at your opponent, and every swing digs to your next land and plants it tapped. That makes it a repeatable Rampant Growth on legs, one that also happens to close games. The friction is directional. Attacking with a Vehicle exposes it to blocks and removal, and the land arrives tapped, so the mana lags a turn behind the damage; you are paying combat risk up front for fixing on the back end. It rewards a shell that wants to hit its land drops well past the point most decks stop caring: big top-end payoffs, expensive activated abilities, colors that gate on a specific land count. The digging doubles as deck-thinning, since every whiffed nonland goes to the bottom rather than back on top, smoothing subsequent draws. What distinguishes it from most acceleration is that it demands you commit to the offensive plan to get the fixing, refusing to let you sit back and durdle for your mana. The land-into-play-tapped clause is the tax that stops that engine from also being a free tempo swing.
