The activation is the whole pitch, and it has no tap symbol, which makes the timing far more permissive than a 2/1 has any right to be. Send it in, let it connect, then watch for a removal spell on the back half of the turn; in response, spend a blue mana and the creature vanishes, going on top of its owner's library to be re-drawn next turn instead of dying. Sweepers, combat tricks, edicts, even a botched chump block all whiff against a body that refuses to sit still long enough to die. The cost is deferred completely: you are not paying to bounce so much as paying a future draw to recast it, which is the tax that stops this from being a frictionless loop (the creature consumes your next card off the top, so the library it sits on is yours, not the opponent's problem). Evasion is the other half. Shadow walls this creature off into a side-combat that the ground-bound board can neither block nor be threatened by, so the damage tends to land unless the opponent fields their own shadow body to interpose. The Thalakos were Tempest's shadow-aligned tribe, and this is among their plainer designs: a small, evasive blue creature whose appeal is not the clock it represents but its sheer unwillingness to stay answered, a recurring tempo nuisance that asks an opponent to keep spending real removal on something that keeps walking itself back to safety.
