Tend the Pests
The exchange rate is the entire design: feed one creature into the spell and get back its power in bodies, each carrying its own death-trigger lifegain. A large attacker about to die anyway becomes a fistful of aristocrat fuel; a creature your opponent is trying to two-for-one turns into a wide army instead. The instant speed is what promotes it from build-around to genuine combat tool. Hold it up in response to targeted removal to bank the value before the creature leaves; cast it on your own turn to convert a spent attacker into the attacker's power's worth of fresh blockers for the following turn. What keeps the trade honest is that the conversion tracks power alone: you swap concentrated power for distributed power while each body's toughness stays pinned at one, so a wide, low-power creature shrinks while a high-power, fragile one can multiply. The payoff lives entirely in what the bodies enable, not in what they measure. Repeated sacrifice triggers, a point of life recouped on each token's death, blockers that are happy to trade one-for-one. It reads as removal-insurance and an aristocrats engine at the same time, priced to be cast the exact moment the sacrificed creature was going to hit the graveyard regardless.
