Tempt with Glory

The Tempting offer mechanic runs on a piece of multiplayer psychology: the trinket you dangle is the same effect you just gave yourself, so every opponent who copies you only pushes you further ahead. Here the offer is a board-wide pump, and the math only ever bends toward the caster. The base effect puts a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control. Then each opponent may put a single counter on each of their creatures, and for every opponent who does, you put another counter on each of yours. At a full table where three opponents accept, every creature you control collects four counters apiece (the base one plus one per accepting opponent) while each of their creatures gains exactly one. The trap is genuine, because the opponents are not being foolish to take the deal: a token-wide army or a single threatened blocker can make declining the worse line, which is exactly the bind the mechanic wants them in. That tension (the gift that helps the giver more than the taker, yet still helps the taker enough to be worth taking) is why these cards work as political instruments rather than reading as flat symmetry. As a payoff it is squarely a go-wide white card: the value scales with how many bodies you already field, so it rewards the token and weenie strategies white has always sat closest to, and does nothing the moment your board is thin.
