The Faustian bargain reads like a math puzzle until you notice the timing clause doing the heavy lifting. Locking the cast to the declare attackers step means you commit your whole board first, count the attackers, then decide whether the pump is lethal: there is no padding the number with creatures held back, no responding to blocks, no information beyond what you have already declared. The buff scales with the swarm and so does the cost, since every creature feeding the +X/+0 is a creature you bury at the next end step. That makes this a closing spell and only a closing spell. Used to actually win, it converts a wide board into one decisive arithmetic strike; used a turn early, it hands the opponent a clean sweep of your team for the price of one card. The design is honest about what it is: a go-wide deck's final number, asking you to be right about lethality because the penalty for being wrong is your entire board. Where most red overrun-style pumps bundle a sweetener (trample, vigilance, an upside that survives the combat), this one keeps only your attackers and offers nothing on the back of the +X/+0, leaning entirely into the downside and trusting that a player who can count to lethal will not care about the cleanup that follows.
