Synapse Sliver

Creature — Sliver4 generic manaBlue mana

Slivers were built as the tribe where every member's text bleeds into every other member, so the question each new ability kept raising was what it looked like multiplied across a board. Card draw, attached to combat, is one of the more dangerous answers. One Synapse Sliver turns a single attacker's connection into a card; a wide board turns every unblocked body into its own draw step, because the trigger keys off any Sliver dealing combat damage, not just this one. That is the structural difference between a creature with a beneficial keyword and a Sliver granting one: the same line of text scales with the width of the board rather than the strength of the individual. The blue placement matters too. Slivers had drifted across all five colors by this point, and routing the draw engine through blue meant a tribe that already wanted to flood the table could also refuel, the kind of grind-out advantage blue rarely shares with a creature deck. The 3/3 body is incidental; what the card contributes is a clause that pays the deck for doing exactly what it was already trying to do, which is connect with as many small creatures as possible. It is the payoff card in a tribe full of enablers, and it reads as fragile only until you remember every other Sliver in play is feeding it.
