Sylvan Tutor
The white-bordered, beginner-facing cousin of Worldly Tutor, and a quietly important data point in how Wizards has priced single-color tutoring. The constraint is the whole design: it fetches only a creature, and it puts that creature on top rather than into your hand, so you pay the full price of your next draw for a known card. That top-of-library placement is the friction that keeps the rate honest; you commit a turn to setup before the threat ever touches the battlefield, and a forced shuffle (a fetchland crack, an opposing effect, your own deck manipulation) can scatter the card you just tucked back into the library. The narrowing to creatures is the second discipline. Where the colorless Demonic Tutor lineage grabs anything and the blue Mystical Tutor reaches for an instant or sorcery, green's tutors stay inside green's lane: bodies, and the things that look like bodies. The simplicity is the point of the printing it came from, where each spell isolated a single verb of the game. There is no card advantage here, no mode to weigh, no instant-speed window: it does one thing, at sorcery speed, for one mana, and asks you to plan a turn ahead to make it pay. The card's later relevance comes entirely from that efficiency surviving its training-wheels origins: a one-mana green spell that finds any creature in the deck is a tool with no expiration date, regardless of the border it was printed in.
