Pumps and tramples are the most disposable spells in the game: they resolve once, swing the math of a single combat, and head to the bin never to be seen again. Flashback inverted that disposability, and this is the green workhorse of the lesson. The first cast costs almost nothing and pushes a creature through a chump blocker; the spell then waits in the graveyard, ready to be redeployed later when the board has reset or stalled, with the worst part of its mana already amortized. The +2/+2 and trample is unremarkable on its own, deliberately so: the rate stays modest precisely because you are buying two spells rather than one, and the steeper second casting is what keeps the equation honest. What it teaches is a sequencing instinct that has outlasted its era. A trick that can be bought twice changes how you value tempo, because spending it early no longer means it is gone for good. Green rarely gets reach, so a recurring source of on-demand trample is one of the quieter tools the color uses to grind through gummed-up boards, and this is an early, plain statement of that idea.
